The St. Cloud State women’s basketball team destroyed the Jill’s of Northland College in exhibition play at Halenbeck Hall last weekend by a final of 81-46. Lexy Petermann got the Huskies on the board fifteen seconds into the match and the Huskies would hold the lead for the remainder of the game. They jumped out to a 19-1 lead in the first quarter before Northland finally got their legs underneath them, finishing the quarter on an 8-6 run.

By halftime, the Huskies held a 53-24 edge while shooting 50% from beyond the arc. They would struggle in the third quarter and actually be outscored 14-12 during that period, but rebounded in the fourth frame allowing only 8 points to the Jill’s. The Huskies were led in scoring by senior forward Kyli Van Klei who finished with 13 on 5 of 6 shooting. Van Klei was the only Huskies player to score in double figures.

The Huskies are on the road this weekend for the 2015 Fort Hays State Tournament. They will return home on November 25th to take on South Dakota School of Mines and Technology at 6pm.
