Suarez Named NSIC Wrestler of the Week

St. Cloud State senior wrestler Gabe Suarez has been honored by the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference as wrestler of the week, announced Wednesday by the league.
The Las Vegas, Nevada native took home first place with a 4-0 record at the 2010 Harold Nichols Cyclone Open in Ames, Iowa. Three of Suarez’s four victories at the 141 pound weight class were also against Division One opponents from Boston University, Oklahoma and Northern Iowa.
A 2010-2011 captain for the Huskies, Suarez is a returning Division Two All-American. Suarez and the second-ranked Huskies will be in action next on November 20th with a trip to the Auggie/Brute/Adidas Open in Minneapolis.
