Volleyball Splits on Weekend

The Saint Cloud State volleyball team started off its four game road trip with a 3-0 loss against Minnesota State-Moorhead on Friday. The Huskies were led by Ashley Shields and Kayla Tschida who had nine and seven kills respectively. Game two of the road trip pitted the Huskies against the Minnesota Golden Eagles and the fans got their money’s worth. After winning the first two sets, the Huskies dropped the next two sets to Crookston. Kayla Tschida took over from there as she led the Huskies to a 17-15 fifth set win and the match victory. The junior from Holdingford notched a career high 20 kills and 15 digs in the contest.
SCSU is now 6-12 overall and 2-4 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. They head to Augustana on Tuesday to take on the Vikings in an NSIC matchup. First serve is slated for 7:00 p.m.
