Volleyball Team Starts Season 2-0

The Michelle Blaeser era has started off on a high note. After a year that saw the St. Cloud State volleyball team win only seven contests, this year’s squad is off to a 2-0 record under their new head coach. The Husky volleyball team won both matches on Friday at the Ferris State Tournament in Big Rapids, Michigan.

The Huskies beat Michigan Tech in five sets Friday morning. After dropping the first and third sets, the Huskies had their backs against the wall but came up big forcing a deciding set and winning that 15-12.

St. Cloud continued their success with a sweep of Glenville State in three sets by scores of 25-11, 25-9, and 25-11. Junior Jen Waterman lead the Huskies with 29 assists in the second set and Ellie Dietzen had 12 kills.

The Huskies play two more games in Michigan as they take on Lock Haven and Hillsdale on Saturday looking to complete their strong weekend.
