01/24/2011 - 1:10 AM
After a rough start to the season, the Husky men’s basketball team has found their stride as their winning streak stands at four games after road victories against Crookston and Moorhead this past weekend.
The Golden Eagles of Minnesota Crookston put up a fight Friday night as SCSU clawed to a 62-50 win. Senior guard Taylor Witt continued his strong play as he led all scorers with 26 points in the contest. Brett Putz added 14 points and Andrew Bernstetter notched five rebounds.
It would be another “w” for the Huskies on Saturday as they settled down the MSU-Moorhead Dragons by a 76-64 score. Witt had his fifth straight 20-plus point game as he notched 25 points while going 10-for-10 from the free throw line. Putz added 14 points and three assists for the Huskies as well.
SCSU is now 10-7 overall and 9-4 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
