The St. Cloud State women’s basketball team split a pair of home games this weekend, defeating the University of Minnesota-Crookston 75-67 on Friday before falling 82-71 on Saturday to Minnesota State-Moorhead.
The Huskies got a huge effort Friday night from first-year forward Jessica Benson, who scored 19 points off the bench on 7-9 shooting. Sophomore guard Rachael Moen scored 14 points with nine of them coming from the foul line, and senior forward Aaryn Booker scored 13 in the win. The victory was the Huskies third straight.
On Saturday night the Huskies battled bucket-for-bucket with the Dragons before MSU-Moorhead pulled away in the final two minutes. Benson once again had a strong game off the bench for SCSU with 16 points off the bench.
The Huskies hit the road to Nebraska Friday for a contest with Wayne State.
