Wrestling Goes Undefeated on Weekend

The St. Cloud State wrestling team continues to make headlines this season as they went undefeated this past weekend against top ranked Nebraska-Omaha and conference rival Southwest Minnesota State.
Against number one UNO, the Huskies stunned the home squad in the last match with a pin by Eric Ellington at 133 pounds. Ellington’s win gave SCSU the 19-18 match victory and improved their record to 13-1. SCSU’s Jake Kahnke continued his stellar season as the top ranked wrestler at 285 pounds defeated UNO’s Taylor Escamilla by decision 5-3.
SCSU wrapped up the weekend with an NSIC victory over the Mustangs of Southwest Minnesota State 32-8. The Huskies are now 14-1 on the 2010-2011 campaign and will be in action on Thursday against Augustana at Halenbeck Hall.
