The Husky football team looks to bounce back after a 28-27 loss against Northern State in Aberdeen, SD last weekend. SCSU will take on Bemidji State Saturday afternoon in the final home game of the season at Husky Stadium. The KVSC Sports Department will bring you live coverage of that game via the Sports Stream. The pre-game will begin at 12:50 and the kickoff is at 1 pm.

Kassie Vaness of the SCSU women’s Cross Country team was named to the 2012 NSIC All-Conference second team for her performance at the NSIC championships last weekend. Vaness finished in the top 20. The women's team placed 8th overall.
Gemechu Bekelcho and Mahdi Koliso from the men’s Cross Country team were also named to the NSIC All-Conference Second Team. The men’s team placed seventh overall. The Cross Country season will continue next weekend at the NCAA Division two regionals in Missouri.

The SCSU women's hockey team suffered a pair of setbacks in Grand Forks, ND this weekend to fall to 2-4 on the season. The Huskies were defeated 3-1 on Friday night before being shut out 1-0 on Saturday night.
Freshman goaltender Katie Fitzgerald was impressive in net for SCSU on Saturday, as she recorded 34 saves in the narrow loss.
The Huskies are at Providence this weekend for a rare Saturday-Sunday series.

The St. Cloud State men's hockey team earned a sweep over the University of Alabama-Huntsville with a 4-0 win at the National Hockey and Event Center. Husky goaltender Ryan Faragher made 18 saves to earn his second career shutout.
Nic Dowd scored the game's first goal for a consecutive night. Dowd's unassisted tally was his second of the season and came at the 3:54 mark of the first.
St. Cloud State went up three before the end of the second period with a LeBlanc goal assisted by Prochno and Hanowski at 14:04.
The Huskies are back home this weekend for a series with Minnesota State-Mankato to kick off SCSU's final WCHA season.

The SCSU Volleyball team saw their losing streak reach a season-high six matches after a pair of home losses this weekend at Halenbeck Hall. The Huskies were defeated by Winona State 3-1 on Friday and in straight sets Saturday by Upper Iowa University. St. Cloud State is now 6-16 overall this season and 2-12 in NSIC play.
The volleyball squad hits the road for their next match Friday against Northern State in Aberdeen, SD.

The St. Cloud State Husky football team was stunned on a last second touchdown at Northern State University on Saturday afternoon. The Huskies fell 28-27 in Aberdeen, South Dakota. The loss drops St. Cloud State to 5-3 overall and 3-1 in the NSIC North.
The Huskies trailed 21-7 heading into the fourth quarter but rallied for 20 unanswered points to take the lead with less than one minute remaining in the fourth quarter.
The Wolves earned the game winning score with a 34-yard hail mary as time expired in regulation. The extra point was the difference in sending the Huskys home disappointed.
Huskies quarterback Phil Klaphake connected on 29 passes for 274 yards and two touchdowns. The Princeton, MN native also rushed for 84 yards and a pair of scores in the loss.
The Huskies are back home this weekend for a game against Bemidji State, which you can hear on KVSC.

The St. Cloud State men's hockey team defeated the University of Alabama-Huntsville Chargers in their home-opening game at the National Hockey and Event Center. The Huskies torched the Chargers 8-3 on Friday night.
Nic Dowd got the Huskies rolling in game one with a power play goal seven minutes into the first period Friday night. Brooks Bertsch gave SCSU a two goal lead just over two minutes later. Both goals were assisted by senior Drew LeBlanc, and the pair of helpers gave him 100 career points.
"It's a load off of my shoulders, but really it's a team accomplishment," LeBlanc said. "I have been blessed with great teammates."
Ethan Prow had a pair of goals to go with an assist in the game and was named first star of the game for his efforts. "It was a great atmosphere tonight with great fans," Sauk Rapids native Prow said of playing at the NHEC for the first time as a Husky.
Cory Thorson also had three points in the game for SCSU with a goal and a pair of assists. In all, 13 Huskies registered points with nine players charting multiple points.

The SCSU soccer team bounced back from a close loss last weekend at home to Minnesota State Mankato with a win and a tie over the weekend on the road. The Huskies took down the Dragons of Minnesota State-Moorhead 2-0 Saturday and tied Northern State 1-1 Sunday.
Kenzlie Hanzlik recorded the shutout in net for the Huskies.
On Saturday the Huskies trailed 1-0 at the half but got a late second half goal from Gabby Fleck to tie the game. Fleck's goal was assisted by Mary Morhardt.
With the split SCSU is now 8-6-2 overall and 7-5-1 in NSIC play. The Huskies are at Bemidji on Friday afternoon before concluding the regular season at Husky Stadium October 28th against Crookston.

The St. Cloud State men’s hockey team open up the home season this weekend against the University of Alabama-Huntsville. KVSC will have coverage of both games. St. Cloud State’s football team continued its winning streak on Saturday with a convincing 55-13 win over the University of Mary at Husky Stadium. It was the Huskies fourth straight.
Junior running back Michael Walker led the Huskies offense with 166 yards rushing and three touchdowns. Junior defensive back Jack Moro led an aggressive Husky defense with three interceptions in the game. It was the second time Moro has intercepted three passes in a game in 2012. Moro was named the NSIC defensive player of the week on Monday for his efforts.

The Huskies women’s hockey team put up an impressive sweep this weekend in Bemidji, posting a 3-1 on Friday night before posting a 1-0 shutout of the Beavers on Saturday.
Senior winger Alex Nelson tallied the first goal of the game Friday, while Cari Coen notched the game-winner late in the second period. Kalli Funk finished the scoring with the first goal of her Husky career.
On Saturday the Huskies got the only goal they needed in the game from sophomore Abby Ness late in the third period. Sophomore goaltender Julie Friend made 39 saves and recorded the shutout in the win.
The Huskies season opening road trip continues this weekend in Grand Forks for a series against North Dakota. Be sure to follow KVSC Hockey on Twitter for updates.

This Saturday the SCSU Football team will host the University of Mary in an afternoon showdown at Husky Stadium. The Huskies look to keep the current three game win streak alive. SCSU is currently 4-2 in the NSIC and 2-0 in the NSIC North. This game can be heard on the KVSC airwaves, pregame is at 12:50 and kickoff is at 1:00 p.m.

This weekend the SCSU Soccer team will host a pair of NSIC matches at Husky Stadium.
