1.) When did you get involved with 88.1 FM?
Summer 2011! I finally found time between school and work.
2.) What show(s) do you currently host on KVSC and what programs have you hosted in the past?
I usually do the Morning Show, I really like the feel of the show and especially the focus on new music. I have also filled in for the Sisters show.
3.) Please list some of the artists and musicians you consider to be a must play on your show(s)?
I love, love, love Regina Spektor and Death Cab for Cutie. I'm also a big fan of Grieves, Cults, Explosions in the Sky, MGMT, and Morphine.
4.) Why are you involved with independent community radio at 88.1 FM?
I got involved because I wanted to learn more about radio production...and just happened to also really like the music! That's what will definitely keep me here. :)
5.) What is in your personal CD player, iPod, or mp3 right now (BE HONEST)?
Newsboys, Skillet, Best of the Beach Boys, Death Cab for Cutie, Brad Paisley, Toby Keith, Mozart... It's pretty random, but KVSC gives me fresher sounds to listen to.
6.) Please disclose the most embarrassing music moment or concert you’ve attended or album you’ve bought (perhaps even shameful)?
I accidentally acquired (from my brother) an Eiffel 65 CD that I'm truly not proud of. I still jam to the music sometimes when I'm in need of a pick-me-up. My brother also "forgot" his N'Sync album in my collection. I just can't throw it out, but I can't bring myself to listen to it, either.
7.) What are your hobbies and interest?
Creating music- I am a vocalist primarily, but also play the piano, flute, saxophone, guitar, and am currently attempting to learn the violin. I love the outdoors and anything active to do in them, primarily hiking and snowboarding. Math is my major, and also one of my greatest obsessions.
8.) When you are not at work or KVSC, where can you most likely be found?
SCSU Library or Math building- I study all the time. When I’m not indoors thinking, I am generally outdoors doing something active!
9.) If it were the end of the world and you could only take five things with you, what would they be (BE HONEST)?
I'm not exactly sure where I'm going...but...Bible, Arick, Panda, sneakers, and my water bottle.
10.) What do you think is the future of radio?
Radio isn't going anywhere. Broadcasting online might take over, but the standard broadcasting won't die out. It's still very much a part of culture.
