1.) When did you get involved with 88.1 FM?
I volunteered to answer phones for 2010 Trivia. Best 2 hours I ever spent in a spandex body suit…
2.) What show(s) do you currently host on KVSC and what programs have you hosted in the past?
Morning Show Part 2. Although I’ve been known to pull a few night shifts as well.
3.) Please list some of the artists and musicians you consider to be a must play on your show(s)?
I love Rush, Queen, (anything on vinyl really), and The Rainmakers. They have been a new favorite of mine.
4.) Why are you involved with independent community radio at 88.1 FM?
Gaining valuable experience as well as the opportunity to be on the air and work hands on in a real working radio station. On top of that I get to meet cool folks and share what I have learned thus far. COOL BEANS RIGHT?
5.) What is in your personal CD player, iPod, or mp3 right now (BE HONEST)?
Probably around the ballpark of 100 GB’s of music recorded before I was born and maybe 15-20 GB’s of stuff from the 90’s and beyond. Plus Stephen Colbert’s audiobook!
6.) Please disclose the most embarrassing music moment or concert you’ve attended or album you’ve bought (perhaps even shameful)
I haven’t been to many shows and nothing embarrassing comes to mind there. But a guilty pleasure I do have is 90’s dance music and everything Pat Benatar ever recorded. (and when I thought that dubstep was a group for a while.)
7.) What are your hobbies and interest?
Gaming, Football (Go Houston Texans!), Old school Pokemon, working for the man, and working for the weekend.
8.) When you are not at work or KVSC, where can you most likely be found?
Losing friends over Mario Party, working the graveyard shift, or enjoying a beverage at the local watering hole.
9.) If it were the end of the world and you could only take five things with you, what would they be (BE HONEST)?
I assume you mean zombie apocalypse. #1: Firearm(s) for protection from the hordes. #2: A dog, (preferably a beagle or lab) for companionship and because he/she will most likely be fuzzy and make me happy. #3: Some sort of gaming machine to kill the time and unwind. #4: My beloved motor vehicle, (so long as no one catches me riding dirty.) #5: A tennis ball for my aforementioned furry friend. What can I say? I’m a selfless man.
10.) What do you think is the future of radio?
Hopefully it will be all about diversity and giving the listener unique choices in the music and news coverage. The media outlets of today are posed with the somewhat new challenge of catering to the consumers. I hope to be around to help navigate the uncharted waters so to speak.
