1.) When did you get involved with 88.1 FM?
I got involved after taking a few radio courses and I just love radio in general. I was in my junior/senior year at SCSU. Next fall semester (2012) will be the one year mark.
2.) What show(s) do you currently host on KVSC and what programs have you hosted in the past?
I host the Noon News Hour on Wednesdays and fill in random news shows from time to time.
3.) Please list some of the artists and musicians you consider to be a must play on your show?
I just read news so that’s not really an option. :p
4.) Why are you involved with independent community radio at 88.1 FM?
Basically: to fuel my interest in radio. It really is a cool place to work at and great experience for being on air.
5.) What is in your personal CD player, iPod, or mp3 right now (BE HONEST)?
I actually have Adele’s CD “21” in my car right now. Her voice is amazing!
6.) Please disclose the most embarrassing music moment or concert you’ve attended or album you’ve bought (perhaps even shameful)?
I have gone to a few embarrassing concerts over the course of my youth, however that information stays with meJ. But I was a girl in the 90’s so I of course bought every *Nsync and Backstreet Boys CD’s.
7.) What are your hobbies and interest?
I am a TV junkie. I have a set schedule of shows that I know are on for certain days; it’s quite time consuming but I usually multi task while watching TV.
8.) When you are not at work or KVSC, where can you most likely be found?
Since it’s currently summer I will probably be outside doing something. During the winter I am usually at home because I cannot stand the cold so I will do anything to avoid it.
9.) If it were the end of the world and you could only take five things with you, what would they be (BE HONEST)?
1. Cell Phone (with a charger that doesn’t need electricityJ) although who would I talk to I’m not quite sure.
2. Photo Albums
3. Food (and something to carry all this stuff in)
4. My bed
5. I would hope my family would survive so I don’t really have to “take them” with me…so I will say my cat.
10.) What do you think is the future of radio?
The answer kind of depends on a lot of things. With the boom of satellite radio, the format of radio has changed. I think if more people switch over to that service radio could still be pretty relevant. However, college radio stations I think will always be around. I also think that syndicated programing is going to become more popular and people might get sick of that.
