Eli.JPG1.) When did you get involved with 88.1 FM?

The Fall semester of 2010.

2.) What show(s) do you currently host on KVSC and what programs have you hosted in the past?

I host Thursday’s Afternoon Progressive Rock Show.

3.) Please list some of the artists and musicians you consider to be a must play on your show(s)?

The White Stripes, Laura Marling, Cake, Cloud Cult, Death Cab For Cutie, and Ra Ra Riot, among many others.

4.) Why are you involved with independent community radio at 88.1 FM?

I love making people listen to anything and everything I think is good, and it’s a very good way to discover new artists. Also, being able to look through the MONSTROUS collection of music KVSC has amassed is pretty cool too.

5.) What is in your personal CD player, iPod, or mp3 right now (BE HONEST)?

I’ve recently been listening to Atmosphere, Johnny Flynn, Girl Talk, Doomtree, Dessa, and Noah and the Whale quite a bit.

6.) Please disclose the most embarrassing music moment or concert you’ve attended or album you’ve bought (perhaps even shameful)

I’m a Jason Mraz fan. I’ve come to terms with that.

7.) What are your hobbies and interest?

Motorcycles, fly fishing, canoeing, camping, hunting… I really just love anything outdoors.

8.) When you are not at work or KVSC, where can you most likely be found?

I’d like to say that you can usually find me wading in a trout stream, walking in the woods, or camping in the BWCA but the truth is I don’t get to do those things nearly enough. You can usually find me in my dorm room.

9.) If it were the end of the world and you could only take five things with you, what would they be (BE HONEST)?

I’m not entirely sure where I’m going in this scenario, so I’m just going to assume it’s a situation where I have to survive in a desolate wasteland somewhere. If that’s the case I’d bring one of my guns and ammunition, a water purifier or iodine tablets, a hatchet, a giant ball of parachute cord, and some fishing gear. That’s all I need, because I’m a man. Or something.

10.) What do you think is the future of radio?

I have no Idea. I certainly hope independent stations like KVSC have a place in it though.
