In late November, 2003, KVSC 88.1 FM achieved an engineering dream.
We've moved forward in our quest to update and replace our transmitter and air chain sound. A new Harris transmitter and Orban processing unit has taken 88.1FM into the digital realm.
What does this mean to you, the listeners of Your Sound Alternative? You will hear a better quality sound and more consistent signal from your friends at 88.1FM!
On November 22nd, in the early afternoon hours, KVSC went off the air for approximately 6 hours so that our team of volunteer engineers, many of them KVSC alumni, could install the new transmitter and other related equipment.
A portion of this major investment to improve our broadcast signal was paid for with listener pledge dollars, the remainder comes from an equipment grant from the state legislature.
