Beyond the Bog Road with Eileen Ivers and Immigrant Soul
On Saturday, March 5th, the College of St. Benedict St. John’s University Fine Arts Programming is bringing one of the most accomplished Irish musicians of our age to Escher Auditorium on the College of St. Benedict Campus. Eileen Ivers is a Nine-Time All Ireland Fiddle Champion,A Grammy Award Winner, has played with the London Symphony Orchestra and the National Symphony at the Kennedy Center, was the original Musical star of Riverdance, and has performed with a wide variety of musicians including Sting, Hall and Oates, and Patti Smith.
Eileen Ivers’s current project is entitled “Beyond the Bog Road” This is a multimedia concert of music, story, dance, and film which celebrates the journey of Irish immigrants into North America where their culture and music met and evolved with the other roots music of the time to become one of the cornerstones of what we understand to be our cultural heritage.
