SCSU Volleyball Begins NSIC Slate with Bemidji State
SCSU Sophomore Libero Clara Krenz

The St. Cloud State Volleyball team will open their conference schedule on Thursday, welcoming Bemidji State to Halenbeck Hall at 6:00 p.m.

The Huskies are off to a fantastic start this season, with a 7-2 record after tournaments in California and Michigan. Sophomore Libero Clara Krenz will enter the match leading the conference in digs per set, with a 5.81 mark. Becca Gruber and Nicole Miller will be looking to lead the Huskies on the attack, with 95 and 92 kills respectively. SCSU has been fantastic on the defensive end, especially in the back row. They have allowed the third-fewest opponent kills per set and rank 7th in opponent hitting percentage. One area of concern for SCSU is at the net, where they rank 14th in opponent blocks per set and have managed just 1.58 blocks per set, slotting in at 13th in the NSIC.

Bemidji State will enter play with a 3-5 record. The Beavers are led by JUCO transfers Sami Leach, who leads the squad with 6.41 assists per set, and middle Maddie Filipiak. BSU will hope to find some success at the service line, as they rank 5th in the conference in aces.

The match can be heard on the KVSC Sports Stream, with pregame at 5:40 p.m. on Thursday.
