Trivia Volunteering--The details
Volunteers Needed for Trivia 2013: A Space oddity
KVSC 88.1FM is seeking volunteers for Triva 2013: A Space Oddity—the radio station’s 34th annual Trivia Weekend contest. Trivia Weekend is a staple in central Minnesota and consists of 50 consecutive hours of trivia questions asked over the air to about 70 teams competing throughout Minnesota and the country. The contest begins at 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8 and continues through 7 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013. Volunteers are needed throughout the weekend to help with the 25-plus phone lines.
The first shift is 4:30-9pm on Friday, then run in generally 3-hour blocks.
And so on through Sunday...
Note: On Sunday the last two shifts are 3-5pm and 5-7pm.
Please email email@example.com to sign up! Or visit room 27 in Stewart Hall on the campus of St. Cloud State University.
As a volunteer for Trivia Weekend, you can expect to answer the phone in three hour shifts as trivia teams call in with their answers. The most needed hours are overnight and early morning. No matter when you choose to volunteer, you can expect to have plenty of delicious food to keep your energy up as more than 50 local businesses cater throughout Trivia Weekend.
Working the trivia hotline is fun work and all volunteers are trained on-site before beginning their first shift.
Feel free to call the office during regular business hours Monday-Friday at 320-308-3066 regarding any questions on volunteering.
Nuts and Bolts of Being a Trivia Weekend Volunteer:

*The sign up for volunteering is posted in the KVSC offices right now, however, you can reach us in a variety of ways prior to trivia.
*No pre-training needed, we will train you when you show-up to volunteer (30 minutes prior to your first shift is preferred).
*We request volunteers are at least 12 years and older, please.
*Volunteers report to Stewart Hall rooms 117 and 119 (first floor) during trivia weekend.
*If you volunteer 15 hours or more, you receive a FREE Trivia 2013: A Space Oddity T-Shirt.
*KVSC has more than 50 fantastic restaurants and businesses catering food and beverages for Trivia Weekend--we do our best to keep you fat and happy!
Please park in lots D, I, B and L near Garvey Commons and lot H near Riverview on the St. Cloud State campus. Do not park in 15 minute spots (patrolled) or handicapped spots. Also, AVOID STUDENT LOTS!
If you enjoy hanging out with creative -- and sometimes zany -- people and being wined and dined, then we could really use your help. Volunteers are needed between 4:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8 and 7:00 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10.
Most volunteers work the trivia hotlines, which is literally the nerve center of Trivia Weekend. Training is minimal and provided on-site. The shifts are offered in three-hour increments, and nocturnal volunteers are in high demand.
Ready to volunteer? Please stop by the KVSC studios to sign up! We are located in Stewart Hall room 27 in the basement, facing the Mississippi River. More information about Trivia Weekend can be found on our history page.
