The Central Minnesota Arts Board is continuing its series of online conversations with artists, organizations, patrons and presenters in 2021.
The next meeting will discuss the interweaving of race and the arts. For the session they invite you to engage in some reflective processes as we look at the role the arts play in creating and upholding racialized narratives. Do we consider who is telling the story when we view a painting, or read a poem? What does an author’s intent or identity mean for a work of art?
Local poet, educator and racial justice activist, Hedy Tripp will join our conversation to offer her insight and expertise as we practice these tools for deep analysis and exploration.
On Thursday, February 25th you can join the Zoom meeting, it starts at 4 p.m. and free and open to all.
