SUMMARY:“Good People: A Photographic Exploration of Morrison County” Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:The Morrison County Historical Society is presenting the exhibit: “Good People: A Photographic Exploration of Morrison County.” \nThrough photography\, Anthony Marchetti examines questions that lack concrete answers. In 2018 he began photographing in Morrison County. Located in Minnesota’s geographic center\, Morrison presents a stark contrast to the Minnesota he has known. In both 2016 and 2020\, Trump’s margin of victory here ranked highest in the state. Monthly trips led to connections and preliminary photographic work. As he gained trust of residents on both sides of the political divide\, he learned more about their lifestyles and values\, passions and fears. Acrylic artist Bev Gold’s artwork showcases strong metal edges and bold abstract colors\, with the organic flow of wild florals. As visitors walk through the gallery exhibit the affect cultivates both masculine and feminine tastes.  Bev Gold finds inspiration when driving down the road\, traveling in other countries\, and looking at photographs. She is always looking ahead to the her next piece and tries to paint something each day. \nYou can see her work at the Paramount starting June 1st and running through July 30th. SUMMARY:Acoustic Open Mic at The Studio
DESCRIPTION:The Studio: A Creative Collaborative Space is seeking all acoustic musicians\, singers\, comedy\, or spoken word or poetry! \nAcoustic Open Mic is open to ages 14+ and is a sober event and performers are asked to register in advance via an online form. However\, you can also register the day of at the event. SUMMARY:Adventures in Monoprinting with Creative Cart Studio
DESCRIPTION:The Great River Regional Library in St. Cloud is offering an art experience for all ages called Adventures in Monoprinting with Creative Cart Studio. \nThe Creative Cart Studio is a mobile maker art space\, so you can drop in anytime during the event to explore the joy of monoprinting and make one of a kind prints using botanical materials! \nMonoprinting is a printmaking technique where the artist creates a single\, unique print\, rather than multiple images of the same print in traditional printmaking. Collect leaves and grasses and bring to class or use some natural objects that have been foraged by our art team. This is open to all ages\, however young children will need adult help. \nThe activity is from 1 to 4 p.m. on Friday\, July 29th. \n\nRadio: We have more details at KVSC.org\, visit the Area Events page. \n
