SUMMARY:Zach Neil @Milk & Honey Ciders
DESCRIPTION:Zach Neil has earned four consecutive Top 40 Texas country singles – not bad for guy who planned to follow in his dad’s footsteps and become a farmer. Farming was the family business and still is\, but when Zach was 16 years old\, his country band entered a “Battle of the Bands” competition at their high school and tied for first place. Zach will tell you – it wasn’t because they were the best but because they were different. While the other kids were playing rock music\, his band was playing classic country hits. Zach soon found the confidence to take the work ethic he acquired from his family and focus on a career in music. Zach is a singer\, songwriter and live performer who uniquely puts his own twist on traditional country music.

SUMMARY:China Rider @Milk & Honey Ciders
DESCRIPTION:China Rider is bringing the music of The Grateful Dead to the land of Milk & Honey. They create an experience that includes the excitement and exploration you would expect at an original Dead concert. China Rider was first conceived by Logan Thomas in 2015 when he put together local musicians to take on the fun challenging project. They spent almost a year in the Bunkhouse practicing and perfecting their improvisational skills. Finally all the stars aligned and they were able to bring it to the stage in June of 2016 in downtown St. Cloud\, MN. China Rider gets its name from the classic Grateful Dead live medley of songs China Cat Sunflower and I Know You Rider\, which is referred to among the Dead community as China Rider!

SUMMARY:Laney Jones @ Milk & Honey Ciders
DESCRIPTION:When I write\, it’s like I step inside of a dream\,” says Laney Jones. “I go to this place that’s somewhere between sleeping and waking\, between memory and imagination. It’s a place where anything can happen.” Press play on Jones’ mesmerizing new album\, Stories Up High\, and you’ll find yourself transported there\, too. Recorded in her adopted hometown of Nashville with producer Andrija Tokic (Alabama Shakes\, Langhorne Slim)\, the collection is lush and immersive\, with rich\, elegant arrangements that ebb and flow beneath Jones’ velveteen vocals. The performances here are timeless\, evoking a faded\, old Hollywood glamour full of longing and melancholy\, but dig beneath the surface and you’ll find that Jones is an optimist at heart\, a believer in the relentless beauty of this world. She wrote the album in what she calls a “flow state\,” and the result is a captivating\, cinematic work that’s equal parts stream-of-consciousness and careful introspection\, an honest\, intuitive record that hints at everything from Angel Olsen to Judy Garland as it reckons with loss\, growth\, and change. Stories Up High follows Jones’ 2013 debut\, Golden Road\, which landed her a nationally televised performance at The Kennedy Center\, and 2016’s Laney Jones\, which prompted Rolling Stone to dub her an Artist You Need To Know. To date\, Jones’ songs have racked up millions of streams\, soundtracked films from Disney and Pixar\, and turned up in commercials for Google\, Netflix\, Toyota\, and Red Bull among others.

SUMMARY:The Lowest Pair @ Milk & Honey Ciders
DESCRIPTION:During the spring and summer of 2020\, The Lowest Pair (Kendl Winter and Palmer T. Lee) found themselves camping and sharing songs around the fire with two dear friends and incredible musicians Adam Roszkiewicz and Leif Karlstrom of the instrumental duo Small Town Therapy. Founding members of the progressive string band Front Country\, multi-instrumentalists Adam and Leif bring a new dynamic palette of colors to Kendl and Palmer’s own instrumental prowess and expressive lyricism. \nAfter sharing a handful of new songs and tunes\, (and making immediate fans in the campground) there was no doubt that a record was in the future\, and In August of 2020 they spent a week out in Enterprise\, Oregon recording at the OK Theater. \nThe new record “Horse Camp” leans towards each member’s string band roots and showcases brand new Lowest Pair songs Kendl and Palmer wrote during the strange times of the pandemic. The album also includes an instrumental by each musician involved. It’s an awesome display of how a simple collaboration of friends can result in music that is as organic as it is undeniable.

SUMMARY:BAD BAD HATS @ Milk & Honey Ciders
DESCRIPTION:Bad Bad Hats are an indie rock trio from Minneapolis\, Minnesota. Known for bringing a joyful\, exuberant presence to their live shows\, touring with The Beths\, Margaret Glaspy\, The Front Bottoms\, Hippo Campus\, and Third Eye Blind\, the group took specific care to bring their fun-loving spirit to their third LP\, Walkman. \nKerry (guitar/vocals)\, Chris (bass)\, and Con (drums) let their collective hair down on Walkman\, bringing raucous and explosive riffs alongside witty lyrics. Though you might not notice from their indie rock exterior\, Bad Bad Hats draws a heavy influence from classic pop songwriting that shines through in their hooky choruses and strong melodic sensibilities. \nFor this release the band set out to push their capabilities as a trio. Subtle changes in process helped the band achieve this goal\, such as shifting Chris from a wider multi-instrumental role to allow him to prioritize his bass playing\, having Kerry record the bulk of the guitars instead. “You can hear all of our musical voices a lot better on this record.” \nA carefully crafted studio sound brings the record to life\, injecting it with an energetic voice that is unique to Bad Bad Hats. Walkman is the group’s fourth time working with producer Brett Bullion\, including their previous two LPs\, Psychic Reader and Lightning Round\, and the Wide Right EP.  Bullion and the band use the studio as an instrument\, resulting in their most polished work to date.
