DESCRIPTION:Stearns County Parks and the Nordic Ski Club of Central Minnesota encourage you to Ski and Sample the 4 park trails during the month of February: \nQuarry Park\, Warner Lake County Park\, Mississippi River County Park and Kraemer Lake – Wildwood County Park …and you can win prizes for Sampling these Ski Trails! \n*For each park you ski\, register your name in the prize drawing (one entry per park)\n*Ski all four parks to receive a bonus entry\n*Join the Nordic Ski Club of Central Minnesota to receive another bonus entry \nAll ages and abilities are encouraged to participate in this free event. \nIf there’s inadequate snow or you’re unable to ski\, feel free to snowshoe or or hike on the Multi-Use Trails in these four parks. SUMMARY:State Fair-MN Farm Bureau Federation Accepting Century Farm Applications
DESCRIPTION:Minnesota families who have owned their farms for 100 years or more are invited to apply for the 2021 Century Farm Program.\n\nProduced by the Minnesota State Fair in conjunction with the Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation\, the Century Farm Program was created to promote agriculture and honor historic family farms in the state. More than 10\,500 Minnesota farms have been honored since the program began in 1976.\n\nFamily farms are recognized as a Century Farm when three requirements are met. The farm must be: 1) at least 100\nyears old according to authentic land records; 2) in continuous family ownership for at least 100 years (continuous\nresidence on the farm is not required); and 3) at least 50 acres and currently be involved in agricultural production.\n\nA commemorative certificate will be awarded to qualifying families\, along with an outdoor sign signifying Century Farm status. DESCRIPTION:The American Indian Center and the Multicultural Resource Center at St. Cloud State University are sponsoring a discussion on “Education as a Tool for Colonization.” \nThe online webinar features Dr. Sasanehsaeh Jennings\, an enrolled member of the Menominee Nation of Wisconsin. She will offer insight as to how education has and continues to be used as a tool for colonization\, sharing her own experience and scholarship around Modern Day Boarding Schools\, along with insight from Native students.
