DESCRIPTION:The College of St. Benedict and St. John’s University is presenting a Student Juried Art show called “@Art.” \nIt’s a celebration of the creativity and innovative spirit of the student body in this juried exhibit. It features artwork in a range of mediums and will feature to two & three dimensional work as well as video submissions. More than 30 student artists were selected for the show. \nThe @ART exhibition opens Friday\, January 29th at CSB Gorecki Gallery and will be on view through March 18th. \n**There is a with a reception and awards ceremony on Saturday\, February 12th from 5- 7 p.m. The award winning student artists will be announced at 6 p.m. \n\nRadio: We have a link to more details at KVSC.org\, visit the Area Events page.

SUMMARY:'Junctures' on display in Kiehle Gallery at SCSU
DESCRIPTION:The Kiehle Visual Arts Gallery at St. Cloud State University is hosting an exhibit called Junctures this month. \n“Junctures” by Megan Vossler and her featured works in the exhibit bridge the span between pre- and late-pandemic life\, exploring this uncertain time through three different subjects: water\, the sky and everyday domestic objects. \nFor example the work “Untitled (Days)” consists of 365 watercolor paintings\, one made each day over the span of one year and is exhibited for the first time in its entirety.  The exhibit is on display during gallery hours through March 30th. \n**The Department of Art will hold a live-stream viewing event of the Twin Cities artist’s talk in the gallery at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday\, March 16. SUMMARY:The Queer's Guide to Country Music
DESCRIPTION:St. Cloud State University’s departments of Communication Studies & Theatre & Film Studies \nFor a queer kid from the South\, country music can be a contentious thing—you love it and hate it. You learn from it yet resent it. It is family and tradition and all the complicated feelings that come with. Country music is home. \nThis is a one person show created and performed by Dr. Colin Whitworth\, a visiting Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Communication.The Queer’s Guide to Country Music wrestles with the history of the genre to ask what it means\, how it’s understood\, and who is left behind by popular conceptions of country music history.  Conversation with Dr. Whitworth will follow the performance.\n\nThe performance is Tuesday\, March 15 at the Arena Stage of the Performing Arts Center starting at 7:30 p.m\,. It’s free and open to the public.\n
