SUMMARY:Indigenous Survivance Art Exhibit at CSB-SJU
DESCRIPTION:The College of St. Benedict and. St. John’s University Fine Arts programming presents the exhibit Indigenous Survivance. \nIndigenous Survivance is an art exhibit that highlights the work of several of Minnesota’s premiere Native artists. Vibrant works\, in a number of mediums\, tell the story of Native people\, drawing on traditional wisdom and knowledge to impact contemporary issues and movements. Lakota and Ojibwe artists Pat Kruse\, Annette S. Lee\, Steve Premo\, Laura Youngbird and Jonathan Thunder share their works to educate others about what it means to be Native and to inspire a whole new generation of Native artists to create art for continued Indigenous Survivance. \nThe exhibit is at the Alice R. DESCRIPTION:The Paramount Arts Underground offers people of all ages the opportunity to come and play in the Paramount Arts Studios every Thursday night. \nThe Paramount Arts Underground offers people of all ages the opportunity to come and play in the Paramount Arts Studios to develop artistic skills in a variety of mediums. Working with a studio mentor\, you can try your hand at throwing a bowl on the wheel\, piecing a mosaic together\, turning a wooden bowl on the lathe\, forming a sculpture out of clay or creating a painting or drawing. The Paramount has all of the supplies and equipment you need to try something new. Arts Underground welcomes teens\, adults and supervised children to come and create together. \nYou can explore Pottery\, Ceramic Sculpture\, Mosaic\, Painting\, Drawing\, Fused Glass and Wood Turning. \nThere is a weekly cost to participate.

SUMMARY:Call For Art: Trail Mix Exhibit at the Whit Gallery
DESCRIPTION:There is a Call for Art for an exhibit coming to the Whit Gallery in St. Cloud. \nThe Trail Mix Art Exhibit is based on a theme of “Honor the Earth” and  Investing in the Future While Banking on Our Inheritance” It will be an art show that focuses on the importance of protecting the environment. \nIt’s a juried show and forty pieces will be selected. Thirty will stay at the Whit Gallery for three weeks and ten pieces will travel to the Good Earth Food Co-Op for two months. \nArtists are invited to submit up to 3 pieces through an online submission form at the Whit Gallery.   \nThere are cash prizes for 1st through 4th place winners.  The deadline to submit art is Sunday\, October 23rd. \nThe opening reception for Trail Mix is Friday\, November 11 from \, 6-9 p.m. with guest speakers\, music\, food\, and poetry readings. \n\nRadio: We have more details at KVSC.org\, visit the Area Events page.

DESCRIPTION:The juried Miller Center Student Art Show at St. Cloud State University has returned. \nAny SCSU student is eligible to enter up to two pieces of art. DESCRIPTION:The SCSU Planetarium will be hosting a collection of showings for science enthusiasts of all ages during St. Cloud State University’s  Homecoming 2022 on Oct. 17-22\, \nThe Planetarium\, which is located in the Wick Science Building on campus\, will hold a total of 14 showings with two taking place on Friday\, Oct. 21 and 12 occurring on Saturday\, Oct. 22. \nShowings begin with an exploration of the solar system as well as what lies beyond it\, then discovers what research is being done to venture back to the moon. Also included will be movies shown about dinosaurs as well as supervolcanic eruptions\, switching things up by taking a look at how life on the planet has changed and continues to change. \nThe showings will also provide a chance to take a look through satellites and telescopes. \n\nRadio: We have a link to more details at KVSC.org\, visit the Area Events page.
