SUMMARY:Native Gardens
DESCRIPTION:Gardens and cultures clash in this thought-provoking comedy.\nPablo\, a high-powered lawyer\, and his wife Tania\, a doctoral candidate\, are realizing the American dream when they purchase a house in a historic D.C. neighborhood. The couple has big plans for their new home\, including a “native garden” made of indigenous plants. Their new neighbors are Frank and Virginia\, an elderly white couple who welcome them with open arms. When Tania and Pablo set to work on building a fence\, they discover that their property line is two feet into Frank’s manicured English garden. The polite veneer breaks down into an all-out border dispute exposing both couples’ notions of taste\, race\, class\, and privilege.

SUMMARY:THE LAST REVEL
DESCRIPTION:The Last Revel is a three-piece folk group from Minneapolis\, Minnesota. Utilizing their multi-instrumental abilities\, members Lee Henke\, Ryan Acker\, and Vincenzio Donatelle\, bring a full spectrum of modern Americana to life with lush arrangements of three-part vocal harmonies\, acoustic guitar\, upright bass\, fiddle\, and 5-string banjo to consistently support impassioned performances of their honest and heartfelt songwriting. Drawing influence from their salt-of-the-earth Midwest ethos the band’s songs so naturally blend the genres of Folk\, Old Time StringBand and Indie Rock to create a sound that echoes the current heartbeat of America. Their latest release\, Dovetail\, highlights each member’s strength as songwriters and collaborators\, and further solidifies their musical foundation after a hiatus beginning in 2019. Self-produced and released under the bands own label\, Sheep Sheep Records\, Dovetail is the band’s fifth studio album. \nLive music is held outdoors in the rain or shine. No refunds. SUMMARY:CHARLIE PARR
DESCRIPTION:In the music of Charlie Parr\, there is a sincere conviction and earnest drive to create. The Minnesota-born guitarist\, songwriter\, and interpreter of traditional music has released 19 albums over two decades and has been known to perform up to 275 shows a year. Parr is a folk troubadour in the truest sense: taking to the road between shows\, writing and rewriting songs as he plays\, fueled by a belief that music is eternal and cannot be claimed or adequately explained. The bluesman poet pulls closely from the sights and sounds around him\, his lyrical craftsmanship built by his influences. The sounds from his working-class upbringing—including Folkways legends such as Lead Belly and Woody Guthrie—imbue Parr’s music with stylistic echoes of blues and folk icons of decades past. Parr sees himself merely as a continuer of a folk tradition: “I feel like I stand on a lot of big shoulders\,” he said in an interview. “I hope that I’ve brought a little bit of myself to the music.” \nLive music is held rain or shine. No refunds. If the music must be canceled due to weather safety issues\, your ticket is good for the rescheduled date or another live music event of equal value. We may alter the start time and/or duration on occasion to avoid inclement weather. \nAll ages show. Leashed-pet-friendly. \nNo outside food or beverages. Water bottles okay. With his intriguing voice\, hard driving back beats\, and down home lyrics\, Roark paints a picture of the joy\, heartache\, and beauty of everyday life.\nNever one to walk a straight line\, Roark’s music is that of a river. Mix that all together with a little bluegrass\, and you’ve got Lance Roark! \n“Better Man”\, his first EP\, was released on March 31st. Roark poured a mixture of emotions and textures into this record with collaborations and co-writes from artists such as RC Edwards and Hank Early of Turnpike Troubadours. \nFollowing the release of the EP\, Roark played several sold out headline shows in Oklahoma and then announced a series of 2023 tour dates with artists such as Koe Wetzel\, Turnpike Troubadours\, Tanner Usrey\, Kyle Nix and the .38s\, William Beckmann\, and Jason Boland and the Stragglers. \nLive music is held outdoors in the rain or shine. SUMMARY:CHINA RIDER
DESCRIPTION:China Rider is a band that brings the music of the Grateful Dead to a stage near you.  They create an experience that includes the excitement and exploration you would expect at an original Dead concert.\nChina Rider was first conceived by Logan Thomas in 2015 when he put together local musicians to take on the fun challenging project. Our songs will transport you to your youth and inspire you to fight against the forces of evil.\n\nSTAY AT HOME ASTRONAUT // post-rockStay at Home Astronaut are a three-piece post-rock band that incorporate elements of punk\, prog\, and math rock to create music that is equally weird as it is catchy.\nLOST ISLAND SOCIETY // ska\, reggae\, indieRoots in the 3rd wave\, while branching into something fresh. A catchy amalgamation of indie rock\, ska\, and reggae – unique\, yet familiar and approachable. Lost Island Society formed in 2019\, but had their ‘coming of age’ moments in 2022 with their debut single “Villain” and tight\, party atmosphere live shows – becoming a staple in the MN ska scene and beyond.
