DESCRIPTION:The College of St. Benedict and. St. John’s University Fine Arts programming is presenting the exhibit Indigenous Survivance. \nIndigenous Survivance is an art exhibit that highlights the work of several of Minnesota’s premiere Native artists. Vibrant works\, in a number of mediums\, tell the story of Native people\, drawing on traditional wisdom and knowledge to impact contemporary issues and movements. Lakota and Ojibwe artists Pat Kruse\, Annette S. Lee\, Steve Premo\, Laura Youngbird and Jonathan Thunder share their works to educate others about what it means to be Native and to inspire a whole new generation of Native artists to create art for continued Indigenous Survivance. \nThe exhibit is on view in the Alice R. Rogers and Target Galleries in the St. John’s Arts Center. DESCRIPTION:There is a Call for Art for an exhibit coming to the Whit Gallery in St. Cloud. \nThe Trail Mix Art Exhibit is based on a theme of “Honor the Earth” and  Investing in the Future While Banking on Our Inheritance” It will be an art show that focuses on the importance of protecting the environment. \nIt’s a juried show and forty pieces will be selected. DESCRIPTION:The  Great River Regional Library in Becker is hosting a writing workshop. \nJoin COMPAS teaching artist Danny Solis for a workshop designed for aspiring writers and performers with little or no experience writing and/or performing poetry. \nBeginning with simple prompts and physical/vocal warm-up techniques\, this workshop is about getting comfortable with the idea of putting your feelings and thoughts on paper and speaking them to others. A discussion of Day of the Dead and writing poems to honor the departed will be explored. DESCRIPTION:The juried Miller Center Student Art Show at St. Cloud State University has returned. \nAny SCSU student is eligible to enter up to two pieces of art.
