Sasparella Trauffea is dancing…and she won’t stop! In this loose adaptation of the somewhat historical events of the Dancing Plague of 1518\, the residents of a small town must deal with the consequences of a runaway father\, an ostentatious mayor\, and\, of course\, the brazen dancing of the Trauffea girl. \nAdd to the mix a lovesick confectioner and a hasty engagement\, and you’ve got the recipe for a rollicking adventure of a radio show that the whole family will love! \n\nCast members of Sasparella\n\nKVSC will broadcast and audio stream the production on Saturday\, April 17th at 7 p.m.\, with an encore presentation on Wednesday\, April 21st at 7 p.m. \n  \n\n\n\nThis project is funded in part by a grant from the Minnesota Arts and Culture Legacy Amendment.

DESCRIPTION:The Morrison County Historical Society is presenting the Role of the Arts and Artists in Social Justice Movements. \nThis is the second program in the February event series and the program will feature a combination of videos and panel discussion. Participants will view two videos – the making of the Black Lives Matter mural and Un-Heard\, followed by a panel discussion with artists\, Melodee Strong and Joe Davis. The panel discussion will be moderated by Georgia Fort and will include the Black Lives Matter mural in Minneapolis\, public art and the role that artists have played in the fight for racial justice in the Twin Cities\, particularly after the killing of George Floyd. \nThe panel will discuss how art can bring about social change and spur people to action.
