SUMMARY:Stearns History Museum Presents At Home: A World War II Experience
DESCRIPTION:The Stearns History Museum in St. Cloud is hosting a two-day event where you can experience life during World War II. \nThe At Home: A World War II Experience will give visitors a glimpse of life on the home front in Stearns County. There will be family activities\, re-enactors\, demonstrations and WWII military equipment. \nThe activities are Saturday\, July 10th and Sunday\, July 11th starting 9 a.m. both days going until 4 p.m. on Saturday and 3 p.m. on Sunday. \nIn addition\, the Museum will host At Ease: A World War II Evening on Saturday\, July 10th. This adult program will showcase entertainment from the era\, featuring Rock City Jazz Band.  It’s a chance to enjoy a night out with appetizers and cocktails. Jules’ Bistro will be catering food inspired by the era. Through the various programs and events it sponsors\, they aim to change the way our communities treat mental health from both a cultural and clinical perspective. Nearly half of all Americans will suffer from a mental health challenge in their lifetimes\, yet a good number of them will not receive treatment from a mental health professional. \nThe organization partners with mental health providers across Minnesota to provide same and next day appointments for individuals in need of immediate mental health services. \n

SUMMARY:Donations for Kids to Celebrate Eid al-Fitr
DESCRIPTION:The St. Cloud Police Department’s Community Engagement Cop House unit is partnering with the Somali Women’s Professional Group and the CentraCare Diversity and Inclusion Department to provide individual candy bags for kids to hand out at the upcoming Islamic event\, Eid al-Fitr . \nThe Cop House will providing space for donations\, candy packing and to be a site for the candy bags to be distributed to kids. The organizations are looking for donations of prepackaged candy\, juice boxes and bottled water for this project. In this loose adaptation of the somewhat historical events of the Dancing Plague of 1518\, the residents of a small town must deal with the consequences of a runaway father\, an ostentatious mayor\, and\, of course\, the brazen dancing of the Trauffea girl. \nAdd to the mix a lovesick confectioner and a hasty engagement\, and you’ve got the recipe for a rollicking adventure of a radio show that the whole family will love! \n\nCast members of Sasparella\n\nKVSC will broadcast and audio stream the production on Saturday\, April 17th at 7 p.m.\, with an encore presentation on Wednesday\, April 21st at 7 p.m. \n  \n\n\n\nThis project is funded in part by a grant from the Minnesota Arts and Culture Legacy Amendment.
