DESCRIPTION:St. Cloud State University’s Center for Holocaust and Genocide Education is recognizing International Holocaust Remembrance Day. \nThe day recognizes of the liberation of Auschwitz on Jan. 27\, a date the United Nations has designated as International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Leading up to and around that date\, the university features an annual lecture series entitled The Scott and Lynn Bryce Lecture on Holocaust Education\, a series intended to commemorate the lives of the victims of the Holocaust and to honor the roles of the two professors who were the founders of Holocaust education at St. Cloud State.   \nThis year’s speakers are Steven Hunegs\, who is the Executive Director of Jewish Community Relations Council\, and Rebecca Erbelding\, an author\, historian\, curator\, and archivist at United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. DESCRIPTION:You’re invited to learn about Hmong history and culture in Minnesota during a free February event series. “Exploring History and Culture in Central Minnesota – Hmong Cultural Center”. \nThe free program is hosted via Zoom each Saturday in February from 11 a.m. to 12 noon\, this is a partnership project of the Benton\, Morrison\, Sherburne and Stearns county historical societies.  The series seeks to create greater understanding and awareness of cultures that have been and still are part of central Minnesota and its history. \nThis year’s programming comes from the Hmong Cultural Center (HCC) in St. Paul\, a nonprofit organization. The programs will be presented by HCC’s director of programs and the executive director. DESCRIPTION:Great River Resonance\, Central Minnesota’s premier handbell ensemble is presenting  a concert of handbell favorites from traditional hymns to popular music. \nGreat River Resonance is a more than 5 octave bell choir comprised of ringers from the greater St. Cloud area. They perform 1-2 concerts a year\, offer small group ensembles for events\, educational events for local ringers\, and customized learning sessions for individual choirs. \nOur bells and chimes are a combination of Schulmerich and Malmark. We get the best of both worlds! Great River Resonance is part of Handbell Musicians of America\, and they  proudly represent Area 7 of Minnesota\, South and North Dakota and. SUMMARY:GREAT Theatre Presents: Descendants the Musical
DESCRIPTION:GREAT Theatre in St. Cloud is presenting Disney’s Descendants the Musical. \nDisney’s beloved heroes and royalty are living happily ever after in the kingdom of Auradon\, safe from the terrifying villains they have banished to the magic-free Isle of the Lost. Entering a completely foreign world and way of life\, the four exchange students have a difficult choice to make: should the young students follow in their parents’ wicked footsteps\, or write their own legacies? DESCRIPTION:St. Cloud State University’s Center for Holocaust and Genocide Education is presenting an exclusive screening of the 2022 Ken Burns\, Lynn Novick\, and Sarah Botstein documentary series The U.S. and The Holocaust on campus. \nScreenings in English will be on Jan. 23\, Jan. 30 and Feb. 6\, while Spanish screenings will run Jan. 24\, Jan. 31 and Feb. 7.
