DESCRIPTION:The Lindgren Child Care Center at St. Cloud State University is hosting their 13th annual used book sale\, and they could use your help. \nEach year\, the Lindgren preschoolers hold a book sale in the Atwood Memorial Center. If you have any gently used books to donate you can drop them off at the Child Care Center located next to the the Engineering and Computer Center or at a number of campus departments. They do not want any textbooks. DESCRIPTION:Sherburne County Parks is thrilled to partner with the Great River Regional Library and the City of Elk River Parks & Recreation to combine literacy with some favorite outdoor spaces. \nThey’re hosting a Poetry Project for those up to 18 years old\, and providing more of a Poetry Path in the parks\, featuring submitted work! SUMMARY:Shiny Sparkling Gem - Handbell Favorites Concert
DESCRIPTION:Great River Resonance\, Central Minnesota’s premier handbell ensemble is presenting  a concert of handbell favorites from traditional hymns to popular music. \nGreat River Resonance is a more than 5 octave bell choir comprised of ringers from the greater St. Cloud area. They perform 1-2 concerts a year\, offer small group ensembles for events\, educational events for local ringers\, and customized learning sessions for individual choirs. \nOur bells and chimes are a combination of Schulmerich and Malmark. We get the best of both worlds! Great River Resonance is part of Handbell Musicians of America\, and they  proudly represent Area 7 of Minnesota\, South and North Dakota and. You’ll learn about winter travel during the fur trade in the early 19th century\, try tossing a curling stone\, and play a round of the Ojibwe snow snake game. \nThere will b additional opportunities to explore the fur post include snowshoeing around the site’s trails. Guided tours of the Fur Post run every 30 minutes are starting at noon\, with the final tour beginning at 3 p.m.. DESCRIPTION:A new exhibit “Resonance of Floating Bodies by Joe Smith” is now on view at the Kiehle Gallery on the St. Cloud State University campus. \nThe exhibit explores the connections between the liminal spaces between objects being and non-being. Using large-scale sculptural incubators\, Smith explores his uncanny development of labored forms as they lie in stasis. The exhibition is a quiet\, dark and meditative space that invites viewers to ponder the essence of objectivity. \nSmith is a visual artist and educator based in Minneapolis. \nThe Kiehle Gallery is located in the Kiehle Visual Arts Center on the campus of St. Cloud State.
