DESCRIPTION:The Snake River Fur Post in Pine River is hosting its annual Winter Frolic\, an afternoon of outdoor fun and activities for all ages to enjoy while learning about Minnesota history. \nThe whole family can partake in educational and interactive winter festivities. You’ll learn about winter travel during the fur trade in the early 19th century\, try tossing a curling stone\, and play a round of the Ojibwe snow snake game. \nThere will b additional opportunities to explore the fur post include snowshoeing around the site’s trails. Guided tours of the Fur Post run every 30 minutes are starting at noon\, with the final tour beginning at 3 p.m.. DESCRIPTION:A new exhibit “Resonance of Floating Bodies by Joe Smith” is now on view at the Kiehle Gallery on the St. Cloud State University campus. \nThe exhibit explores the connections between the liminal spaces between objects being and non-being. Using large-scale sculptural incubators\, Smith explores his uncanny development of labored forms as they lie in stasis. DESCRIPTION:You’re invited to join the Nordic Ski Club of Central Minnesota and Stearns County Parks for the Moonlight Ski.. \nThis is a free family friendly event at Quarry Park. There will be bonfires with smores\, hot cocoa\, door prizes and free parking available. Also\, you can stop in Fitzharris Ski\, Bike\, and Outdoor or Revolution Cycle and Ski on January 6 for free ski rentals on first-come\, first served basis. There are more than four miles of lighted cross country ski trails at Quarry Park. \nThe Prairie Woods Environmental Learning Center will be at the Moonlight Ski and have some skis available for use. It’s a hilarious Minnesota spoof of Charles Dickens’ classic story\, A Christmas Carol.
