Governor Walz to Visit Melrose Business to Highlight Rural Broadband Issues

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is planning a visit to Melrose today to address rural broadband issues, one of his funding priorities this legislative session.

The governor will tour and visit Arvig, a telecommunications and broadband service provider. The business is a recipient of the Border-to-Border Broadband Development Grant, to emphasize the importance of expanding broadband access in Greater Minnesota.

Walz announced last week that Arvig received two grants for projects in Stearns County as well as Otter Tail, Becker, and Clay Counties.

DTepartment of Employment and Economic Development Commissioner Steve Grove; Angie Dickison, DEED Broadband Program Director; Melrose Mayor Joe Finken and other community leaders are joining the meeting.
