A school and restaurant in Stearns County were recognized for their hard work towards food safety this past week at the 2015 Food Safety Awards.

Pine Meadow Elementary School in Sartell and La Casita Mexican Restaurant in Waite Park demonstrated outstanding performance in the area of food safety during 2015. Since 2003 the Stearns County’s Environmental Services Department has issued Food Safety Awards. These awards are presented to those establishments that do an excellent job promoting food safety.

The Stearns County’s Environmental Services Department is responsible for inspections of approximately 400 food establishments.
