SCSU’s International Film Series Presents “God’s Own Country”

November 18 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

The St. Cloud State University International Film Studies is featuring nine films this fall. On Monday, November 18, the  film "God's Own Country" will be screened. The film is the story of a young farmer who numbs his frustrations with drinking and casual sex until a Romanian migrant worker sets him on a new path. The International Film Series takes place in the Atwood Center Theatre every Monday at 7 p.m., and is free and open to the public.

Flutist Nicole Chamberlain will present Glutton for Gimmicks: A Composer’s Addiction to Extended Techniques

The St. Cloud State Department of Music welcomes composer and flutist Nicole Chamberlain. She will present Glutton for Gimmicks: A Composer's Addiction to Extended Techniques. An interactive event, attendees will be invited to learn about the execution and notation of the extended techniques implemented in Chamberlain’s compositions, such as beat-boxing, pizzicato, jet whistle, and pitch bends. Goat Ridge Brewery Presents “The Ghost of Paul Revere” trio

You can enjoy an intimate concert at Goat Ridge Brewery in New London with the foot-stomping musical trio from Maine, The Ghost of Paul Revere. Complete with banjo, bass, guitar and stop-you-dead-in-your-tracks harmonizing vocals, they will provoke you to reflect on thoughtfully written lyrics one song and hitting the dance floor the next. Japanese-American Veteran shares firsthand account of Secret Military Camp in MN

The Stearns History Museum is presenting a speaker on a little known part of Minnesota's history. They are sponsoring the Smithsonian’s Righting a Wrong: Japanese Americans & World War II and Minnesota’s Secret Language School. Children, ages 3 and older, can learn about the Japanese-American experience during story time at noon, and then make a craft to take home. “Far Away” Theatre Production at St. Cloud State University-Nov. 20 to 24th

Experience Christmas as the Lindberghs Celebrated It During World War I

You can experience what Christmas was like for the Lindberghs during World War I. Meet costumed interpreters and learn about early 20th-century holiday traditions and the challenges wartime presented. St. Cloud Winter Nights and Lights Parade and Celebration

St. Cloud's Downtown Council invites you and your family to the 19th annual Winter Nights & Lights Celebration. The seasonal festivities include the Snowflake Stroll, a shop-hop event, including Winter Trick or Treating, Winter Wonderland activities at Lake George, Games, Prizes and Hot Cocoa Bar at Capital One--and the parade, starting at 5 p.m. on West St. Germain Street.
