Maple Sap, Syrup, & Sugar Demo

Join museum staff for a demonstration of traditional and contemporary methods of harvesting and processing maple sap. Guests will observe the process of gathering maple sap and boiling it into syrup and sugar.Hourly demonstrations of sugar making will be held Saturday, March 30th at noon, 1 pm, 2 pm, and 3 pm at the Mille Lacs Indian Museum and Trading Post. Come enjoy and learn a basic stringing technique and bead a ring to take home. This arts and crafts event will take place on Saturday, Apr 13th from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Allow for an hour to make the craft and this crafting session is recommended for ages 8 and up.
