KVSC’s award-winning news department brings you weekday (Monday through Friday) broadcasts with help from 24/7 News Source and BBC News Summary. Our comprehensive news programs feature the noon – 1:00 p.m. News Watch program and the 4 – 4:30 p.m. News Edition program.
During our newscasts you’ll get your rundown of local, state, national, and sports news as well as a daily weather forecast to keep you updated of what’s going on in your community and beyond.

- MN Native News, Our Living Lands, National Native News, and Word With a Champ airs during the 4 p.m. News Edition. These programs are distributed by Native Voice One.
- Up North Report airs during the noon News Watch. This program is distributed by KAXE Radio.
- Weather Decoded: airs during the noon News Watch and 4 p.m. News Edition. This program is created by our meteorology students at KVSC.
- This Day in MN Sports: airs during the noon News Watch and 4 p.m. News Edition. This program is created by our sports department at KVSC.
KVSC’s news department also presents educational/informational features during our noon News Watch:
- Husky Spotlight and History Mystery airs Mondays at 12:30 p.m.
- Native Lights airs Tuesdays at 12:30 p.m. This program is distributed by AMPERS, diverse radio for Minnesota’s communities.
- North Star Stories Weekly airs Wednesdays at 12:30. This program is distributed by AMPERS, diverse radio for Minnesota’s communities.
- Untold Stories of Central MN and Backstages airs Thursdays at 12:30 p.m.
