Archived: 57-Year-Old Clearwater Bridge That Spans the Mississippi River To Be Replaced

Clearwater residents are encouraged to attend an open house to learn about the replacement of Highway 24 bridge spanning the Mississippi River.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation says attendees will have the chance to look at the project’s layout and design as well as traffic plans.

The $17.4 million project is scheduled to start Saturday August 15 and finish in July 2018. Crews will work to replace the current 57-year-old bridge with a new two-lane bridge with wide shoulders and a multipurpose trail.

The meeting will be Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at Clearwater City Hall located at 605 County Road 75.
