Archived: Solar Eclipse: Fun Without the Sun at SCSU

St. Cloud State University is encouraging the St. Cloud community to come out and see the space spectacular total solar eclipse! Join KVSC from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Monday, August 21 on the Atwood Mall. Listen to the KVSC 88.1 FM personally assembled suntastic playlist and witness the first U.S. total solar eclipse since 1979!

For the viewing party, SCSU is providing free eclipse glasses to attendees, Eclipse glasses are the only way to safely view this event directly since the remaining crescent of the Sun will still be able to cause eye damage.

Wear your Huskies apparel for a group photo at 1 p.m. and get the chance to sample Chartwells donut holes, a perfect afternoon snack!

The moon will cover 80 percent of the sun at 1:06 p.m. Witness this solar spectacle now; the next total solar eclipse will not be until 2024!

Thank You Underwriters
