Archived: New Weekend On Air Schedule on 88.1FM

Starting this weekend on 88.1FM, KVSC has a new lineup of specialty programming that we are very excited to debut.

Saturdays:

2 to 3 p.m., Voices from the Circle

3 to 4 p.m., Earthsongs

Sundays:

Noon to 2 p.m., To The Best of Our Knowledge (now a two-hour program)

2 to 4 p.m., American Routes

After a few years of absence, KVSC has received listener and member feedback  to restore Native American programming to 88.1FM, so that’s exactly what we are doing.

Following Ritmos Latinos with Lupe’ on Saturdays, we are pleased to now carry two hours of Native American programming from Native Voice One, starting at Noon.

In the 2p.m. slot, it’s Voices from the Circle, a show with a relaxed pace and presentation style, originating at WLUW Chicago with hosts native to northern Wisconsin Ojibwe communities. Then at 3p.m., Earthsongs takes a more contemporary, produced, and pan-American approach to indigenous music and culture.

Sunday afternoon programming will be improved based on listener feedback as well; from Noon to 2p.m. we will now carry both hours of the big-ideas show To the Best of Our Knowledge, from Wisconsin Public Radio and PRI.

Then at 2p.m., American Routes, from WWNO New Orleans and PRX, bridges multiple American musical styles with New Orleans as the epicenter of its music map. This program will provide a natural segue into our popular program at 4p.m., The Root Cellar.

KVSC Your Sound Alternative is committed to quality programming. All listener feedback is appreciated! If you have feedback or questions about our new programming please e-mail info@kvsc.org. And as always, thanks for listening!

Thank You Underwriters
