St. Cloud State University and two other businesses are celebrating a workforce development grant later in May.

SCSU Spokeswoman Anna Kurth says St. Cloud State separately partnered with Park Industries and New Flyer of America to earn the university and the businesses the $350,000 grants. The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development gave away this grant as part of the Minnesota Job Skills Partnership.

The grants will provide worker training to increase skills, gain a stronger workforce with skills specific to their industry, and SCSU and St. Cloud Technical and Community College will increase capacity to develop and deliver new programming that can be used by other businesses.

The signing ceremony will be at the St. Cloud State Welcome Center on Monday, May 14 starting at 3 p.m.
