Stearns County officials are asking the public to stay off part of the Lake Wobegon Trail due to construction on a route.

If you are planning on walking or biking the trail be aware that the section of the Lake Wobegon Trail from St. Joseph to Waite Park is under construction and not open to the public.

Workers are relocating utilities and extending culverts. The next step would be laying of asphalt, which could begin in early October.

Construction of this section of the popular biking trail will continue until next spring.
