Archived: Learn How Minnesota Anglers Can Fish This Whole Weekend For Free

The Minnesota Department of Natural resources is holding their “Take a Kid Fishing Weekend” again this year.

Although Minnesota has a strong tradition of fishing, the percentage of younger fisherman is small.

According to the Minnesota DNR, all anglers in Minnesota can fish without a license as long as they bring someone 15-year-old or younger with them. This is an easy way to get more people fishing without the hoop of buying a fishing license.

“Take a Kid Fishing Weekend” is June 9-11, so grab your rod and reel and head out to the lake for some quality free fishing time this weekend.

Some of the lakes in the St. Cloud area innclude Lake George, Donovan Lake, Pleasant Lake and Long Lake, to name a few.
