Archived: SCSU Students Learn Self Defense In RAD Class
Twenty-two students took the Rape Aggression and Defense class offered in February and March. This week they have the chance to show what they learned.
The Campus Area Police Services, who offers the course, says it teaches women how to get away from an attacker and how to control their strength.
The group met three times. The first two classes teach self-defense tactics, and during the final class the instructors dress in protective gear and simulate attacks on students.
The simulation demonstrations are being held Wednesday and Thursday. In the future, CAPS hopes to open this course to the public as well to students.
