The Minnesota Department of Health says they’re in the process of a 2 year study that they believe will uncover evidence of genetic material in some of the state’s local water supply. 

The scientists working with the Department of Health found a high percentage of genetic material in one of the eighty-two wells they tested. The scientists will now try to determine how to reduce potential contamination and how the contamination is affecting consumers.

Scientists have notified the owners of wells that may be vulnerable to contamination.
