Archived: Folks Can Learn How To Spot Fake News
Fake news stories have been a rising concern, and some people are worried about what to believe?
The Morrison County Historical Society is hosting a class on how to spot fake news.
Executive Director Mary Warner says the class is called “How to Analyze the News.” Folks will review propaganda, confirmation bias, the anatomy of a news article, and slant.
While uncovering history the society staff uses different methods to determine whether a source is credible. This is also a tool folks can learn in the class.
People must reserve a spot in the class before Feb. 15 for a fee. The class will accept between 5-20 participants, and takes place on Feb. 18 from 1-4 p.m. The class will be held at The Charles A. Weyerhaeuser Memorial Museum in Little Falls.
To reserve a spot, call 320-632-4007 or submit a form online.
