A suspect in a burglary has been taken into custody.

St. Cloud Police Assistant Chief Jeff Oxton says on Saturday officers went to an apartment in the 300 block of 3rd Ave. S. for a burglary complaint. They learned that just before 4 a.m. a suspect went into an occupied apartment by tearing a screen and going in the unlocked window. The suspect took several things, including electronics, from inside the apartment.

Officers looked over video surveillance. The suspect was found to be an acquaintance of the apartment resident. Using a traffic stop, police found and stopped the suspect. He was taken into custody without incident. The stolen items were recovered from the suspect’s car.

The suspect was identified as 25-year-old Sahal Said Ahmed of St. Cloud.
