There’s an update on the fatal car crash near Clearwater that happened earlier this week.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office released the name of the man who was killed Monday after his car was engulfed in flames on County Road 75. The driver was 22-year-old Marcus Joseph Sabel of St. Cloud.

Sabel’s car was found crashed into a tree on Co. Rd. 75 near 221st Street. The Clearwater Fire Department extinguished the flames and removed Sabel from the driver’s seat.

The crash is still under investigation.
