Drivers will find it easier to travel via Highway 24 near the Mississippi River Bridge in Clearwater.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation says the intermittent road closures of about 15 minutes were originally scheduled to begin on Monday, December 5th. These interruptions are being postponed because the water level on the Mississippi is too high.

The closures will continue as soon as the water levels recede on the River.

When the construction project is complete it will replace the 57-year-old bridge that is currently in use, as well as preserve an important river, and improve local utilities.
