It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas as a cold front passes through central Minnesota, putting Stearns County in a winter weather advisory.

St. Cloud State University’s Bob Weisman, a professor of atmospheric science, says a low pressure system coming from North Dakota will be passing north of us. Temperatures will be dropping below 20 degrees and winds will be picking up with gusts reaching 35-40 MPH.

Weisman says North Dakota will be getting the bulk of the snowfall as central Minnesota gets occasional flurries toward the end of the week. This may cause low visibility due to blowing snow.

Everyone is advised to cover up when braving the outdoors.  even though temperatures and wind chills won’t reach dangerous levels, it is suggested to not stay outside longer than needed.
