With the National Weather Service predicting high winds and heavy snow throughout Central Minnesota, many area schools are either closed or closing early Friday.

 

Classes at St. Cloud State University are canceled as of 1 p.m., but university offices will remain open. Other campus activities will continue as planned, including the Global Engagement Forum. 

 

Schools in the Sartell-St. Stephen and Sauk Rapids-Rice districts will close 2 hours early. Schools in the St. Cloud district will close 3 hours early. 

 

Area Boys and Girls Clubs and all 15 KIDSTOP sites are closed today. 

 

According to the National Weather Service, a blizzard warning remains in effect across much of Central Minnesota, including St. Cloud, until 9 p.m.
