A 65-year-old man was airlifted to the St. Cloud Hospital after hitting a deer on his motorcycle Sunday afternoon.

Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner says Allen Berg of Starbuck was driving his 2015 Harley Davidson south on County Road 27 when he struck a deer. He lost control of the bike and swerved into the ditch at 295th Street north of Brooten. The crash happened just before 3:30 p.m.

Berg was not wearing a helmet during the crash and was airlifted by Life Link Helicopter to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The Sheriff’s Office received help from the Belgrade Police, Brooten Rescue and Ambulance, and State Patrol.
