Online voting is now open for designs for new state parks and trails license plates.

The Department of Natural Resources says more than 80 license plate designs were submitted in May during a contest. A panel of judges chose three that showed creativity, quality and represented Minnesota.

Now, it’s up to voters to choose the winner.

The new plate will be available in October for a 125th anniversary celebration of the state’s parks and trails. Proceeds from license plate sales will benefit Minnesota’s outdoor recreation.

Voting is open until 5 p.m. Monday, July 4 online at the DNR’s website.
