Drivers who commute between St. Cloud and Collegeville on I-94 should plan for delays throughout the summer.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation says one lane of westbound Interstate 94 is currently open. Backup lanes will open Friday, May 13 for walleye fishing opener between Highway 23 in St. Joseph and County Road 159.

Eastbound I-94 has also been reduced to one lane during non-rush hours. It will become a permanent single lane Tuesday.

MnDOT adds the delays are part of two projects to resurface and improve the Interstate. The lanes are scheduled to re-open this Fall.
